Rita and Helder DeOliveira

Rita and Helder have been providing exceptional homestay experiences for international students since 2016.  They pride themselves on the care they take to ensure that each student's stay exceeds the expectations of both the parents and child.     

Rita DeOliveira, MPA, C-TESL earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration, as well as Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language.  She is licensed to teach ESL in the State of Massachusetts, and has taught for more than 10 years, to students of all ages, cultures, and proficiency levels.  Rita has been publicly recognized for her teaching success, earning awards as Teacher of the Year and Middle School Teacher of the Year while working in the public schools.  Teaching ESL is Rita's passion and her joy, and this enthusiasm is evident in her instruction, and the relationships she develops with her students and their families.   

Helder DeOliveira is a native of Recife, state of Pernambuco, in Brazil.  Helder has lived in the United States for many years, and is a fluent speaker of three languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English.  He has a background in Accounting, having worked for large, multinational corporations for most of his professional life in Brazil.  As an immigrant to the United States, and being multilingual, Helder fully appreciates the challenges of being immersed in a new culture, while trying to acquire another language.  He brings this understanding and empathy to his supportive relationships with homestay students.
