Your Custom-Made SAT and TOEFL Test
Preparation Program

 

Shorter homestays can be arranged for the specific purpose of preparing for standardized tests, including the SAT and TOEFL.  Your host is an experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher who has helped students successfully prepare for and pass these exams.  By spending time with your child one-to-one, the teacher can design a program that will address his or her individual language difficulties, and customize instruction to eliminate the barriers to achieving a higher score.

One-to-One Test Preparation Programs

SAT Preparation
Extra practice with informational texts, brush-up on grammar and syntax, identify and address individual weaknesses with language, and use results of practice test to analyze and correct errors.



TOEFL Test Prep

Improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills with individualized support.  Learn techniques to improve intelligibility through focused pronunciation practice.  Use tools to improve note-taking for faster responses to test items.  Receive support in error analysis from practice test results. 

College Application Essay Assistance 

(Sessions arranged on an hourly basis)

The college entrance essay is an important way for a student to distinguish themselves from thousands of other applicants.  Your child's teacher will help them improve all aspects of their written English, such as format and structure, grammar and mechanics, conventions of academic writing, and much more.

Depending on your child's needs, it is possible to arrange additional session for instruction, to maximize the benefits of their homestay.
